Always tryin' to set my ears up for some pickin' and strummin' the way they used to do back in my hay day. </div><div>Have you ever been lookin' for Mp3's and just got down right frustrated? Well I'm lookin' all the time and sometimes it's a mess. Sometimes I don't know even where to begin. This particular time I tried being <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">specific</span> about my search. I wanted an Mp3 for <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-style: italic;">you</span></span> to listen to. So I typed in Mp34U! And lordy, I ended up finding <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Del_McCoury">Del McCoury!!</a> What a treat! What a discovery! And wouldn't you know it, it's a live track, too! At the<a href="http://www.sfstation.com/hardly-strictly-bluegrass-festival-2008-e324161"> Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival</a> they have in the wild west, city of SanFrancisco. Now, I know...San Francisco doesn't really make me think about country music at first thought. So you can best believe that I did one whopper of a double take when I layed eyes upon this here track. Just hit play and you'll know exactly what I'm talkin' about! </div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://mp34u.com/posting/4995">-link to Del McCoury song-</a></div><div><br /></div><div>Take care now...ya hear?!</div><div><br /></div><div>WR</div><div><br /></div>Fake Wesley Rosehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06159211456724542850noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7658303262787512051.post-30330133362093211102008-09-09T14:56:00.000-07:002008-09-09T15:17:43.753-07:00Big Rock Candy Mountain<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Kmtkyz10aDo/SMbxUXZfhaI/AAAAAAAAACw/2RFS_nsrZ_k/s1600-h/a+harry-mcclintock_500w.png"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Kmtkyz10aDo/SMbxUXZfhaI/AAAAAAAAACw/2RFS_nsrZ_k/s320/a+harry-mcclintock_500w.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5244144148300137890" /></a>Howdy there pardner...do you know who this is?<div>That's Harry "Haywire Mac" McClintock. He is kind of a legend among rustlers, gold miners and cowboys. He was mentioned in a movie that came out a while ago called </div><div>" O brother where art thou? " Did ya see it? It was very good. I personally am convinced that the movie re invented folk music, country music and good old time mountain music. Which alot of us were very happy about. With all this newer music taking over, what, with all them machines and what have you...a man could damn near lose sight of the very music that has made us what we are today. Harry McClintock took pride in his work and inspired a great many men from out of the horrible and God-awful depression that hit us all, back in the twenties and thirties. He convinced alot of men that there was this Big Rock Candy Mountain. I could say plenty more on top o' that for certain. And I aims to keep that particular point as the very focus of this here, blog. Ya see...I do believe that I have enough knowledge and experience to tell you wonderful folks about country music. Let there be no doubt in your mind that I have been around the block a few times and when it comes to selecting a song or two, I seem to always know what I'm talkin' about. But I will also not ramble on forever about the music, which I love, so that you can hear for your own self exactly what I mean. </div><div> Here's another thing now...what would country music be without Jimmie Rogers? He is the founder and father of my favorite kind of music. Without Jimmie Rogers pickin' away and yodelin' and croonin' the hearts of many, country music would not be what it is today. </div><div><br /></div><div> As far as today is concerned, I would have to mention New Orleans and the evacuation. How y'all doin' today? I hope ya have a smile workin' for ya.<br />Hey...<br />Is it me or is it a well known fact that American music is the best darn music on the planet?<br />If it's just me then let me say this now...I love it. The kinda music that <span style="font-weight: bold;">really </span>gets under my skin is good old time country music. It's a simple kinda music for simple minded people who already have a lot to deal with in life. Now, I respect Jazz and all for it's complicated and sophisticated ways. Don't get me wrong. As an accountant, I do believe that I can figure most things out. But when I need to take a break from countin' numbers and dealin' with the missus and artists who want to tell me their personal problems, I need something easy for a troubled mind. And that's why I like country, bluegrass, blues and western. Here is an equation for ya:<br />E=CW squared. I'll give you a clue...the E stands for easy listenin'...got it?<br />Good.<br />Here is some music that sounds easy, but gets my heart a thumpin' whenever I hear<br /><a href="http://mp34u.com/posting/2074">James Cole's Washboard Four's "Runnin' Wild."</a><br /><br />Y'all take care now ya hear?<br /><br />W. My name is Wesley Rose. I am one of the pioneers of country music. I began my collegiate career with an interest in Chartered accounting, if you can believe it, but soon found that I had the knack to become a publisher of music. Country music.<div> Now, Country music was before the integration and development of Country and Western music. Country music was first. It's roots are based from the traditions of Folk music, Celtic music, Gospel music and old time music, found in the Southern states and the Appalachian mountains. It mainly started out as a caucasian style and soon branched out into what we know today as both Country and Western; more integrated, culturally and ethnically, of course. </div><div> Lessee here...well, wouldn't ya know...I'm about done with this introduction, but I'll be back after I search around for more interesting facts about myself and the history of Country AND Western music, here in the good old U.S of A!</div><div>Take care now, ya hear...</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>W.
